Dear Friends:

Safe Food – Delivered Safely and Without Physical Contact

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are instituting new measures for the safety of our customers and crew, effective immediately.

  1. We are undertaking extraordinary sanitation procedures at the farm in our vegetable and prepared food vegetable processing areas in order to maximize food safety (constant hand-scrubbing, sanitizing counters, etc.) with the use of commercial sanitizers.
  2. Our farm is located in a very remote location as those of you know who have visited. Therefore, we have minimal “foot traffic” except for our employees. We are closed to the public. This isolation provides us with inherent protection and food-safety.
  3. The vegetables you receive from us have received substantially less physical contact that anything found locally as nothing we sell has had any physical contact with the public.
  4. You should know that we have not had any illnesses at the farm in recent history.
  5. We are now taking the temperature of all staff (including the delivery staff) at least twice-a-day. We are requiring our employees with symptoms of any illness to stay home. We will make these records available upon request.
  6. We are suspending our request to have our packaging returned to us for reuse as this could pose a sanitation and health risk to our staff and customers. We suggest that you “stockpile” the packaging we use and we will take them back when the pandemic subsides.
  7. We are instructing our delivery crew to leave your order in your cooler (or as you have requested) without physical contact and maintaining “distance.”
  8. We ask that our customers disinfect the lid of their coolers between deliveries.
  9. We are also suspending our attendance at all markets at this time in order to minimize contact with the public.
  10. We are advising our crew to avoid public gatherings and are training them in the vital importance of “social distancing.”

Our frozen foods are produced on our farm and have been prepared by healthy individuals and stored on our farm in a sanitized environment. Many of our prepared foods were processed many months before the onset of the pandemic. We therefore consider them “safe foods.”

We are optimistic that these measures will be short-lived.
